About Me
Thanks for stopping by!
I'm thrilled to have you here. Feel free to look around and enjoy learning about my favorite activity…woodworking!
Why This Website
I started this website because I know a lot of people who were eager to learn woodworking. Despite the massive volume of information on the Internet, there didn't seem to be any useful information that would give total beginners confidence in their ability to start woodworking.
I have seen many websites and videos that have tons of information advertised as easy or for the beginner woodworker. Still, I found most of these did not start at the very foundational beginning. I wanted to give people the "tools" to confidently go out and start woodworking projects and buying woodworking tools and equipment.
My History With Woodworking
I have been fascinated with wood for almost as long as I can remember, and certainly before I was old enough to handle tools. As soon as I was old enough to pound a nail, my dad gave me a hammer, a 4x4 scrap of lumber, and a bucket of nails and allowed me to practice pounding nails to my little heart's content. Time and projects have come and gone, but my love for making things out of wood has never faltered.
Now it's time for me to pass on some of the knowledge I have gained over the last 45 years. I think it will be beneficial for my readers because, for most of that time, I have never had a fancy woodshop or even a garage. Most projects I made were in the basement, out on the driveway, or at the kitchen table. I had to make do with very few tools. Creative thinking was always necessary to use fewer materials, save money, and still create the wooden furniture my family needed.
I will do my best to give you what I have found to be the best set of options for learning how to do woodworking
